Artistic Corner
Art Adventure
Ages 6 - 10
This program is designed for the child who loves to be creative. Each day, students will learn about different types of artwork and then create a different project including painting, painting, clay modeling and much more!

Intermediate Art
Ages 8 - 12
Through this class, students will begin to evaluate art and techniques. Students will complete a different project each day that emphasizes the newly acquired techniques. Students will work on advancing their skills while focusing on their creativity.

Advanced Art
Ages 12 and up
This program is ideal for students with a strong passion for art. Students will learn about different artists and techniques, and then apply their knowledge and skills to create original pieces of art. Students will develop more advanced skills in these ten classes that span two weeks.

Textile Arts
Ages 10 and up
Your child will explore the world of weaving, knitting, sewing and pottery, gaining insight and knowledge into the practical world of the textile arts, and will complete a variety of projects. Give your child the skills and confidence needed to successfully master the textile arts in a creative way.

Cartooning
Ages 10 and up
Students will learn to use shapes and lines to create their very own (cool/crazy) cartoon characters while learning the tools and techniques to liven up their drawings with action and emotion.

Graphic Photoshop
Ages 10 and up
This is an introduction to the popular and powerful Photoshop program, where your child will learn the ins and outs of digital photo manipulation, from cropping to collages. Professional instructors will provide tips and techniques in the use of Photoshop's many simple, yet complex, tools. Soon the students will be turning their own photos into personal works of art with amazing filters and special effects!

Chef In Training
Cooking 101
Ages 6 - 10
Does your child love to help out in the kitchen? Sign him or her up for cooking 101 to learn the cooking basics! Your little chef will learn everything from proper food handling to how to follow a recipe. Allow our certified staff to create a safe and creative environment. Each day your child will complete a variety of different recipes that he/she will bring home to share with you and your family! At the end of the class, each student will have an original cookbook complete with the recipes completed in the program.

Cooking 201
Ages 10 - 14
Did your children take and enjoy Cooking 101? Allow them to further their skills and independence in the kitchen through Cooking 201 this summer! This class is ideal for a child with a passion for cooking. Students will advance their skills in the kitchen. Through this class, students will learn nutritional information while following recipes. Each lesson will introduce your child to a variety of diverse foods while he or she builds self-confidence and creativity in the kitchen. Students will be given the opportunity to create and share their own recipes. Every day, your child will come home and share homemade treats. At the end of the class, your chef in training will have an original cookbook along with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to cook!

Advanced Gourmet Cooking
Ages 12 and up
Advance Gourmet Cooking is the perfect class for a student who has experience and a passion for cooking. Students will learn about healthy nutritional habits and how to incorporate these ideas into their lifestyle. Students will be challenged to create healthy modifications to some of their favorite treats, will learn new techniques to use while cooking and then will practice their new skills in a recipe each day. Every day, students will participate in a “Quick Fire Challenge” where they will create unique recipes based on the ingredients of the day. At the end of this class, students will know how to enhance their recipes while creating healthy alternatives. Students will also apply their techniques and tips, along with their knowledge and skills, to create healthy snacks.

Baking
Ages 10 and up
Does your child enjoy baking and cake decorating? After this one week course, students will have information and knowledge on making tasty and creative cakes and treats. A professional baker will expose students to a variety of decorating techniques.

Writers Corner
Creative Writing
Ages 8 - 12
Does your child have a story to tell, write or draw? Have him or her come, work with friends and write their very own story. Together the children will explore ways to tell a story. This is for the child who wants to write poems, riddles or rhymes. Should the main character be a hero or villain? Can pictures add to the story? Students leave our workshop with a small collection of their own stories. Classes include both reading stories and writing stories.

Critical and Creative Writing
Ages 10 - 14
Students will examine and practice both critical and creative writing techniques while engaging in writing as a process. They will practice steps such as brainstorming, outlining, and producing multiple drafts of a written work while learning to distinguish between editing and revising. Students will put these methods into practice by producing works using compare/ contrast, multiple example, and persuasive techniques. In addition, students will learn how to enhance creative writing through adding rich descriptions, vivid imagery, and figurative language.

Science and Technology
S.T.E.M. G.E.M.S. — Raging Robotics
Ages 10 - 14
Participants in S.T.E.M. G.E.M.S. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Generating Excitement through Mechanized Systems) will learn to be problem solvers. Using scientific and engineering skills and imagination, students will feel the thrill of creating a robot capable of solving “real-world” problems.

Physics for Fun
Ages 10 and up
Discover the fascinating and practical world of science! This class will focus on different units of study, as well as incorporating daily challenges. At the end of the week, a Physics Olympics will be held in which groups will compete in a variety of challenges.

CSI - Lauralton Hall: "Solve the crime every time!"
Ages 10 - 14
In this fun-filled, educational workshop students are summoned to various staged crime scenes where they will participate in fact finding and evidence gathering activities in the hopes of solving the crime. Along with fellow investigators students will use Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and deductive reasoning to weigh evidence and apply findings in the quest to find the culprit. Participants will learn how to collect and analyze fingerprints, lip prints, and shoe prints; conduct hair and handwriting analyzes; identify mystery powders, solutions and much more!

Video Making
Ages 10 - 14
Students will explore Windows Media Maker and Microsoft PowerPoint and will be given instruction on how to efficiently use the software while creating a “Movie Theme of the Day.” Students will create a story, use a flip camera to capture their story, go back to the classroom to edit and, finally, make a disc to show to family members.

Fun Adventure Trip
Ages 8 - 14
Let your child enjoy exciting travel adventures all week long. Our fun, qualified staff will take the kids on a different trip each day. They’ll travel to an amusement park, go to an arcade, take a trip to a maritime center or climb a mountain for the day. Lots of fun in one week! Return time may be later than 3:00 p.m. on some days.
